Haiku #3 The Bat’s Wrath

Flying bats filled his heart with Dread

Within him the Darkness Spread

As rain and fury descended on a black Night

So was born the Dark Knight

We have known each other far too long
A generation, a decade strong
Even in moments that we were apart
I still had you in my palpating heart

Every time our eyes meet
How brief or long it’s been
My heart still skips a beat
It demands to be loved and seen

I am in love with you
Head to toe, absolute and true
But you aren’t with me
Our union it’s not to be

I tried my best to buy your heart
Tried to begin, a start, our start
Love is not bought but earned
That I now have learned

Around you I can no longer stay
Aghast I must fly away
I must search for my dream
A fish following the river’s stream

I ‘ll always cherish what we had
The memories good and bad
I know now We are not for each other
And so I must say Goodbye, my dear

Atomic Bonds and Relationships

Two people waiting for each other

Two atoms searching one another

Separated by borders and nations

Separated by solids and solutions

Smiles on their faces as they meet

In synch their hearts beat

The distance between them decreasing

The bond Between them strengthening

When the circumstances are apt

They combine and last

One and one becoming one

Stable and never to shun

And then they start to interfere

Pushing too much into one another

And so breaks the companionship

That was once a bond, a relationship

I just finished watching this movie called “Chef”. It’s a new movie released in US but not in theatres here in India. It’s a movie starring some pretty known faces from hollywood ; Jon Favreau (Iron Man Series), Sofia Vergara (Modern Family) , Scarlett Johansson (Really!Need I add a movie here?! ) . I was actually thinking of writing a proper review but then you have qualified  on payroll people doing that job. So what I am going to do instead is write what the movie meant to me and my views and opinion about it.

I am a total foodie. I think there may have been times when food porn gives me more of a high as compared to well the usual fan. I am also in my own words an “amateur cook”. I love cooking. I have been making my own breakfast since a couple of years now. And I can think I can say that I know my kitchen well. Cooking soothes you in a way. There’s beauty in creating something that can appease your taste buds, satiate your hunger and well entrance your sight on depending on how well you cook it. There’s a certain magic in the way the different amalgamate generating an entirely new product. There are colours, flavours, smells and sounds everywhere. Ah! The sound of fries fizzling, curry boiling, it’s just beautiful .

I think this deeply affected my perception or interpretation of the movie.  The movie it starts with well cooking a dish. It’s total food porn or a food fiesta if you like. The main character is a chef concerned with creativity. He is in his own words in a creative rut. This is something I think every person who has a talent or penchant for something like cooking, painting or for that matter anything. Would you like to do the exact same work every day no matter how much you love it? Won’t you feel like doing something different, experimenting, try something new? This is something I can totally identify with.

His boss tells him “You are a cook not an artist” Now, that’s a harsh statement what’s life without creativity without variety or spice? Doing the same thing again and again like a programmed robot! He quits the job, starts a food truck where he decides the menu. His rules; his place.  And so starts a journey of self-discovery, food creativity and family reconciliation. It’s a beautiful movie that captures the relationship between characters really well. The characters touch you deeply and there are moments where you feel yes that’s the way it should be. In other moments well there is cooking, lots of it. Mexican food mostly and it simply looks eye catching. The shooting is done quite well. The food seems at it should be. The food is vibrant full of colours both mouth-watering and eye-capturing. Please don’t watch this movie on an empty stomach; strictly forbidden.

Overall, the movie teaches you to love your family, exploit your creativity and just break free. Watching this movie has made me feel really really hungry.

Maybe, I‘ll fix myself an evening snack a new and an interesting one

Alien Abduction

My consciousness started to dip
And I decided to go to sleep
Although the night was bright and starry
The burden of my tired body anymore I couldn’t carry

I went into a dreamy trance
My subconscious spiraled into a dance
I had a dream
A dream that could cause a light heart to scream

I saw a white really bright light
It started stinging my eyes
The light cast the silhouette of three small figures
And my head seemed like it had several seizures

They stood above beside me
And stared onto me
They had heads as oval as eggs
And very thin were their hands and legs

They seemed to think that I was their guinea pig
And they probed and tested  me with a e-stick so big
I felt horrified
And they seem to feel satisfied

They gave me an injection
Which sent me into a deep hibernation
I slept soundly
And everything started to seemed so cloudy

I woke up underneath the rising sun on my bed
And so heavy was my head
There was a wound my head which could sure need some cream
Had that horrid thing really been a dream!

Order & Chaos

They have existed since the beginning of time
order and chaos; two sides of the same dime
Order brings and exists in stability
Chaos predominates in instability

Order promotes evolution
And chaos brings forth revolution
Order creates bureaucrats
While Chaos  spawns heroes

Order presents a peaceful sight
But chaos a thrilling fright
Order lets friends talk through the fight
Chaos makes them fight till the last light

Order is no Angel and Chaos no demon
It’s not a war, it’s a marriage; a union
For within Chaos Order must be bought
And within Order Chaos must exist to enable freedom of thought

the living dead

Everyday I wake up at the same time
Everyday I feel the same;fine
The sun rises every morning in the east
The morning doesn’t seem to change even the least

Everyday I go about my work
Only to make some buck
I have no one to love
I don’t have the desire to go above

My soul seems dead
My body lives only for bread
I have no desire
In my heart there’s no fire

Everyday for my work mechanically I think
My eyes feel too tired even to blink
To me all the days seem the same
For which I have only myself to blame

My body may be a temple
But I only wait for it to crumple
My eyes see the world around me
But they don’t view it happily just let it be

I have become so mechanical
Never in my life have I been so hysterical
Now that all is said
I introduce myself to you as the living dead
